Weekly Wednesday Archive #9

Hi there,

This week from the archives is a 3d card from a decoupage kit.  It came from a book which had several cards in it and included all the background papers and other embellishments.  No stamping etc was involved just cutting and layering of the main image and attaching it to the matching background.  The only technical and fiddley bit is cutting all the images out for layering.  They are great for when you just want to make something without having to think or design.  I really like 3 dimension on cards so I really enjoy making these types of cards.

Can't seem to get a good shot of the layers which is a shame
as the flower bouquet is quite dimensional.

Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #170

Hello,

Two posts this evening as I have to hopefully catch the deadline for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #170.  Here is the sketch.

Here is my interpretation.

Thought this would be an appropriate theme as Valentines Day is fast approaching.  Most products are retired Stampin Up and the Embossing Folder brand I'm not too sure.  This was very quickly put together this afternoon.  I really like this set it is a Valentines set .  It has some sweet images.  I especially like the heart banner.
Thanks for looking.

Nice Surprise

I received a very nice surprise.  I was a Challenge winner in the Shabby Chic Vintage category
for The Card Concept Challenge blog.  Challenge #26 which was also their one year anniversary.
This was also the very first time I had entered any of the Card Concept challenges so I was very happy my card was chosen.

 This is my card entry.

Using this image as the concept and inspiration

I encourage you to have a go at entering.  Its about a fortnightly turnaround so the deadline is not so demanding and there are 6 style categories to chose from or you can enter a different card in each category if you are game!
Thanks for stopping by.

Weekly Wednesday Archive #8

Hi there,

Where did that week go?  Can't believe I haven't posted anything since last weeks Weekly Wednesday Archive post.  The year is already speeding past.

Today I have to share a 21st birthday card I made for a friend in c.2012.  It is a twisted easel card.
Made with Stampin Up retired products.  Seem to have a lot of retired Stampin Up stuff!!!!!

I always find it hard coming up with an idea for a male card.  This card took me forever to make.
I seemed to fuss with nearly everything.

Weekly Wednesday Archive 7

Hello,

Sharing another card from my archives.  This card is c.2011.  I was playing around with this style of card fold.  Not sure if it has a special name.  All the products are retired Stampin Up.  I really like the colours in this card.  That is the beauty of Stampin Up products they are made to go together and colour coordinate which is great when you are time poor.

I even made a matching envelope

The Card Concept Challenge #26

Hi,

I'm sharing a card today made for another challenge on The Card Concept blog.
I will try to participate in a couple of different type challenges through the year, time permitting of course.  I think they will be good value for learning and inspiration.

This is my card for the Card Concept challenge #26.  There are several categories of style which you can choose from which is good and then an image to interpret this style from.

Here is the image

And here is my card.  I am going to put it under the Shabby Chic/Vintage category.
I was inspired by the pretty colours and flowers.

This is a special card for my daughter's 21st.  I really had a lot of fun making this card.
It turned out quite pretty.

Betsy's Blossoms

Hi,

I have been playing around with this stamp set named Betsy's Blossoms.  A retired Stampin Up set.
I really love the images and the scrapbooking paper named Floral District which seems to match it so well.  The colours are so fresh and happy.  I am hoping to try and use up old products and stash to try and reduce.  But i think i am fooling myself a little.  I seem to have a HUGE stash which will probably last the rest of my lifetime without adding to it!  Which doesn't seem likely.

Anyways this card was inspired from here

I am really loving the versatility of this set and continuing on to make a few more cards with it.
Stay tuned for more to come.

Weekly Wednesday Archive 6 on Thursday!

Hi All,

Seems like Wednesday just came and went before I realised I forgot my weekly archive post.  Hope that doesn't happen too often!

This card is circa 2009.  It was made as an engagement card for a friend's daughter.
It uses lovely shimmery metallic paper.  The silver hearts are heat embossed over hearts which are applied with perfect pearls powder on a versamark base.

The heart stamps are Stamp It stamps and can be found here Swirly Heart and Swirly Heart Mini
and Curly Heart Shadow which was used behind the silver hearts.

When I started out making cards a very very long time ago.  There wasn't  a large range of rubber stamps or papercraft supplies available in Australia; not like today.  Many of my early rubber stamps came from Stamp It and I still have most of them today.  I have used them quite a bit over the years and find they are still versatile today. I also like that they are an Australian company.  The ribbon is from Kaszazz which I have used a lot of as well.  It is very pretty ribbon.

Life Book Week 1

Hi there,

I am so excited to be finally making a start on my Life Book 2015 journey.  Here is the warm up page exercise with my chosen word for the year.  This exercise is based around the fear of facing a blank page.  I had a ball just playing without thinking.  Just slapping down scraps and playing with mixed media.  Something I have been wanting to do for soooooooooo very long.  Now my life is at a stage where I am free to do this and one of the reasons why I chose 'Freedom' as my word for the year.

Intentions Envelope

This little envelope is for our intentions for 2015 and is added to the main page to refer to throughout the year.  Am having so much fun already and Tamara is an awesome teacher.  I'm so glad I decided to jump in and do it.

Here is my interpretation

Made with all (sadly retired) Stampin Up products.  Namely Floral District paper, and Betsy's Blossoms stamp set.

Life Book 2015

Hi there,

http://willowing.ning.com/group/life-book-2015

Finally the wait is over.  I am so excited to be taking this year long journey of learning lots of mixed media techniques, art journaling and self-development.  Today is the first of 52 weekly lessons and so far from the time of registration, several weeks ago, to the first lessons put out today I must say I am very impressed.  Can't wait to get out the paints, papers, glue etc to make some arty fun.
